Other

I have a wide array of other skills that make me a valuable asset on any team. Here is a highlight of some of my other skills.

Video Production

In my Audio and Video course, I had the opportunity to produce a professor spotlight video for the Ferguson College of Agriculture social media pages. Through this project, I recorded an interview, shot b-roll footage, and learned how to use Adobe Premiere to produce a high-quality video. Click the image to view the full video on Facebook!

Feature Writing

For my Cowboy Journal feature story, I had the opportunity to highlight Dr. Bailey Norwood and Christy Lusk’s professional partnership in the agricultural sales classroom after they took over the program’s well-known course. My story captured the heartwarming narrative of their collaboration while meeting the vision and expectations of the Ferguson College of Agriculture’s leadership. Through this process, I gained hands-on experience developing a publication-quality feature, working closely with my professors, class editors, and peers through multiple rounds of revision and feedback.

The High Stakes of High Steaks is a technical feature written for Southwest Farm Press that examines the economic forces driving historically high cattle prices that started around this time and the challenges facing today’s cow-calf producers. Through interviews with agricultural economists, livestock market professionals, and producers, the story explores herd contraction, drought impacts, production lags, and long-term market outlooks. The feature translates complex market data and industry insights into an accessible narrative for producers, highlighting both the opportunities and risks shaping the current cattle cycle.

Magazine Design

Throughout college, I've had the opportunity to create two magazine spreads. The first was in a layout and design course, and the second was in the agricultural communications capstone course, fondly known as Cowboy Journal.

Below are the two samples of my work. I think tremendous growth can be seen between my first and second piece of work. I'm excited to see even more progress in my work as I gain more experience!

Event Programs

I created comprehensive event programs for the National ACT Professional Development Conference, organizing schedules, speaker details, session descriptions, and key logistics into clear, user-friendly materials. These programs ensured a seamless attendee experience and provided participants, speakers, and organizers with the information needed for a successful event.

Excel Proficiency

From cash flows to event ledgers, Excel has been a prominent tool throughout my college career. It's been an integral part in many of my agribusiness courses and a vital resource in many of my internships. Below are some examples of how I've used the tool.

Professional Presentations

At the conclusion of my internships with John Deere and Koch Agronomic Services, I presented my summer work to teams across each organization. In these presentations, I communicated how I spent my time, the projects I completed, and the value delivered to the company. While the presentations are confidential, the experience strengthened my ability to condense complex work into concise presentations and to communicate professionally with diverse audiences.
